Tottenham may end up targeting Inter Milan attacker Lautaro Martinez this summer – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter believe he could be a strong addition to the Premier League.
The Athletic reports Spurs could look towards the Inter forward if they sell Harry Kane this summer, amid strong links to Manchester City during this window.
It is understood that the north London club have a contingency plan in place to target Inter’s frontman.
Martinez, 23, is a South American striker that has grown massively in the past couple of years.
He ended up with 19 goals and 11 assists last season across all competitions, helping Inter to win the Serie A title in the process. Also, he had 29 direct goal contributions the campaign before that.
The fact he’s still so young makes him an amazing talent, but Spurs may only turn towards him in the event of losing their talisman.

Lautaro Martinez could light up Premier League
The Athletic mentions Spurs as a potential suitor for Martinez, but adds rivals Arsenal are the team that are actively trying to sign him. In addition, the player would be willing to join the Gunners.
Martinez is built very much in the same mould as countryman Sergio Aguero, who has gone down as one of the Premier League greats.
Of course, the comparison is only made in terms of playing style with a low centre of gravity. It remains to be seen the levels the Inter youngster can reach when he develops further.
If he does come to England, neutrals could be in for a treat.
