‘Cracking talent’: Some Newcastle fans hail 18-year-old prospect in pre-season win
Newcastle United beat League One opposition Burton Albion on Friday in a friendly match – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were particularly impressed with the display of their young prospect Joe White.
The Magpies secured a 2-0 away victory at the Pirelli Stadium in a pre-season game.
Jacob Murphy continued his pre-season form with the opening goal. In addition, Brazilian forward Joelinton added a second early in the second half as the manager Steve Bruce got more minutes in his squad’s legs.
The Toon finished 12th in the Premier League last season, but the fanbase are begging for more attractive football.
They’ve got plenty of talented attackers in their squad, so it’ll be interesting to see how they start the new campaign in a couple of weeks time.
Joe White grabs attention of Newcastle fans
A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media believe that academy player White was excellent against Burton because of the way he looked so comfortable at senior level.
The teenage attacking midfielder was substituted on in the 55th minute and got involved in the final third, which included a moment where his effort was denied by the opposition goalkeeper.
He’s an 18-year-old talent who plays at youth level. However, he’s yet to gear near the first team when it comes to a competitive game.
Here are some Newcastle fans discussing White:
