Granit Xhaka has claimed ‘it felt really good to be home’ after making his Arsenal return yesterday.

Homecoming

After mass speculation about his future, the Switzerland international made the perfect return.

Xhaka has been reportedly been off to Roma for weeks on end with the midfielder even commenting.

During Euro 2020, the 28-year-old claimed it was ‘beautiful‘ in Rome as he geared up to take on Italy.

However, a move has fallen through since with the Italian side failing to make a suitable offer.

The central midfielder made his return to action yesterday and scored Arsenal’s only goal of the game with a header.

Aubameyang replied to his post as he praised him for his header, whilst Gabriel Magalhaes called him ‘my G’.

Xhaka will play a big role after Arsenal return

Xhaka’s set to play a big role for Arsenal following his return.

A transfer to the capital of Italy was on the cards, however, the ace is set to stay this summer. And if the latest reports are to be believed, he’s also set for a new contract until 2025.

The midfielder was one of Mikel Arteta’s most crucial men last season despite their faltering campaign.

His performances were the only air of consistency about the Gunners.

Retaining Xhaka also means the club can focus on strengthening other areas of the pitch. A new number 10 and a centre-forward are a desperate requirement for the north Londoners.
