'Wow': Charlie Patino left stunned by 24-year-old Arsenal player's display against Tottenham yesterday
Arsenal fans will be buzzing this morning after completing the double over fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
A mistake from Hugo Lloris gifted the Gunners the lead, before Martin Odegaard doubled their advantage.
Arsenal’s club captain has been in incredible form this season.
He’s already scored eight goals and provided five assists this campaign, already improving on both tallies from last season.
His latest goal was absolutely fantastic, finding the bottom corner from well outside the box.
Tottenham gave him way too much time and space, but he still had a lot of work to do to beat Lloris from that range.
Odegaard’s exceptional close control and vision has helped his team create so many brilliant opportunities in front of goal.
He put in another top performance yesterday, as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Pape Matar Sarr struggled to keep him out of the game.
Odegaard impresses against Tottenham
The Norwegian took to Instagram to celebrate his side’s win and said, ‘North London is RED’.
Many of his Arsenal teammates replied, with Eddie Nketiah calling him, ‘The best’.
Emile Smith Rowe loved his performance, while Charlie Patino simply said, ‘Wow’.
Odegaard received plenty of praise after the match too, with Arteta particularly happy with his performance.
Dimitar Berbatov was watching closely too, and said that he thinks the Norwegian could get even better.
Despite not being the obvious choice for the captaincy, Odegaard is very much leading from the front.
He’s taken responsibility throughout many of Arsenal’s games this season, and his goal and assist tally shows how vital he is.
Odegaard impressed again against Tottenham, and will have relished putting in such a brilliant performance against Arsenal’s biggest rivals.
The result gives them an eight-point advantage over Manchester City, with the visit of Manchester United next up.
Erik ten Hag’s side are now in the title race too, and three points next Sunday will put Arsenal in an unbelievable position.
