Arsenal are still awaiting their second signing of the summer with just one week to go before their Premier League opener.

Following the conclusion of the two major international tournaments, the summer has flown by with the final preparations going in ahead of the 2024/25 campaign kicking off.

Mikel Arteta‘s side have endured a slow start when it comes to transfers with only Riccardo Calafiori to show for their summer business.

But Arsenal did not coming into the market needing to add a load of players to their squad on the back of what was a seriously impressive 2023/24 season.

However, the Gunners are now at risk of losing out on one of their targets over the coming weeks as he has now been offered to AC Milan.

Arsenal target could now join AC Milan

So far, Arsenal have only been able to address their backline; which did not even need to be improved after ending last season with the best defensive record.

And with Arsenal in talks to sign Mikel Merino, it could soon become only the front line which is yet to be bolstered.

The Gunners do have a number of options on their radar with the likes of Victor Osimhen a striker of real interest to Arsenal this summer.

But the north London side could also do with another winger to provide Bukayo Saka some support on the back of a busy 12 months for the wide man.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have now been offered the opportunity to sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus.

The Italy international is not in the plans of the new boss in Turin Thiago Motta and that has been made abundantly clear.

Chiesa has just one year remaining on his current deal with the Old Lady but there is no prospect of him playing again for Juventus.

Over recent days, Chiesa’s agent has travelled to Rome to speak to Roma over a potential move to the capital for his client.

Federico Chiesa’s future still in the balance

It has been suggested recently that Chiesa is dreaming of a move to the Premier League having been linked with numerous clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur have also reportedly shown an interest in Chiesa this summer as they also look to add to their attacking options.

Chiesa is said to be tempted by the prospect of a move to London, too.

However, interest from Italy is also strong and would provide the 26-year-old with an easy transition if he is to remain in Serie A.

Bringing Chiesa into the club would be a risk for any Premier League side – despite his low fee – purely on the Italian’s dismal injury record.

One thing is for certain, no clubs are really making their move to sign the ‘world class‘ forward so far.
