Arsenal look like they’ve been beaten to the punch when it comes to the race to sign one of Europe’s most in-demand forwards.

The Gunners are looking at all options before Friday’s deadline and have a number of potential signings on their radar.

Brighton’s Evan Ferguson has been linked with a big-money move just today, while there’s been suggestions the Gunners will move for Nico Williams before the deadline as well.

Of course, there are other names in the mix as well and one of the names to be consistently linked with Arsenal is Nigerian star, Victor Osimhen.

Arsenal were believed to be leading the race to sign Osimhen just a few days ago.

However, it now seems the Napoli star has decided to wait and see if Chelsea make their move for him instead.

Victor Osimhen wants to sign for Chelsea

According to a report from iNews, Osimhen is now favouring a move to Chelsea as he looks to get his future sorted before the deadline.

Osimhen is expected to leave Naples regardless of destination but it’s being reported now that he has rejected a move to Saudi Arabia in favour of waiting for Chelsea.

Alongside rejecting Saudi offers, Osimhen is also effectively ruling out the prospect of signing for Arsenal or any other interested clubs.

The report from iNews claims that Osimhen sees himself as a Didier Drogba type figure at Stamford Bridge.

Quite what the fee could end up being, remains to be seen.

But Chelsea will need to move some more players on to get this one done in line with PSR.

Osimhen could push Chelsea to the top four

While there’s always plenty going on at Chelsea and pundits and fans are never short of an opinion, there is no doubt the signing of Victor Osimhen improves them.

Chelsea hammered Wolves at the weekend and scoring six goals away from home is impressive in itself.

If they can now go and sign Osimhen ahead of the likes of Arsenal and Man United, then it tips the balance firmly in their favour in the race for fourth.

Osimhen is a ‘world-class‘ forward and at his best, is one of the top strikers in the world.
