Journalist says Arsenal could yet bid for ‘world-class’ winger before Friday’s deadline

Arsenal fans will be hoping it’s a busy end to the window for their club this week as they seek to add more quality to the ranks.

So far, only Riccardo Calafiori has signed while a deal to bring Mikel Merino to the club seems to be dragging on.

Still, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill continuing with the Gunners and just today, it’s been claimed Arsenal are considering a bid for Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.

Arsenal have been looking for a new attacking player all summer long and while Ferguson is a long-term target, he’s going to be hard to get.

However, one man who could be gettable is Spain winger, Nico Williams. The Euro 2024 winner has a release-clause in his contract and according to Alex Crook, a fresh approach from Arsenal should not be ruled out.

Arsenal could make late window move for Nico Williams

Speaking about all things transfer related on TalkSPORT, Crook got onto the subject of Arsenal and their potential business.

And in doing so, Crook suggested a move for Nico Williams might still be on the cards.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if Arsenal tried their luck for Nico Williams before Friday”, Crook dropped into the conversation live on air.

Williams would excite Arsenal fans

Arsenal fans will be looking for their club to produce something out of nowhere this week and Nico Williams would be a real icing on the cake signing.

Williams has been in-demand all summer and a number of clubs have shown interest.

Arsenal are thought to want Williams above any other winger and with the release clause around the £49m mark, the price isn’t even that high in the modern market.

Dubbed ‘world-class’ for his performances at the Euros, Williams really would take Arsenal to another level.

In terms of dream late window signings, Nico Williams very much ticks the boxes of Arsenal fans.
