Spurs fans have bemoaned Fabrizio Romano’s update claiming Tottenham are not in for Nahitan Nandez.
On Thursday, Calciomercato claimed Spurs were closing in on the Uruguay midfielder’s signature.
However, Romano has rubbished the report, taking to Twitter to claim Tottenham haven’t made an official bid.
Spurs fans had got their hopes up but were then left bemused by the follow-up.
Will Spurs regret not moving for Nandez?
Nandez played in the 2021 Copa America, featuring in all five matches for Uruguay as they reached the last 16.
His tally of international caps stands at 41, including nine in the Copa America and five at the World Cup.
In terms of his club career, Nandez came through the ranks at Uruguayan giants Penarol before joining Boca Juniors in 2017.

The versatile midfielder was successful in South America, winning two league championships with Penarol and one with Boca.
In 2019, Nandez joined Italy’s Cagliari, where he has made 72 appearances.
According to a scouting report on Playingfor90, Nandez “plays an aggressive style that stems from his physical nature.
“He doesn’t have great size, but he is remarkably strong for a midfielder.”
