Arsenal could be about to get a boost in their hunt for new players this summer, with Wolves apparently ready to sell Ruben Neves in the next transfer window.
The Sun has claimed that Neves is one of a number of midfielders high on the list of potential targets for Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta. It’s also been claimed that the Gunners boss sees Neves as the ideal signing for his team and sees the Wolves man as key to his rebuild plans.

And in a positive boost for Arsenal and Arteta, The Athletic have reported that Wolves are now ready to accept a suitable bid for Neves if it comes along. It’s reported that Barcelona are the most likely to make that bid, even though Arsenal’s interest is there.
As well as signing a new striker this summer, Arsenal are also looking to bolster the midfield. There remains a question mark over Granit Xhaka’s future, and Neves ticks boxes. Labelled as ‘terrific’ by Jamie Redknapp, Neves has been lauded by a number of pundits while at Wolves. Jamie Carragher is another to sing his praises as well.
Wolves are thought to value Neves at around £50m.
TBR’s View: Ruben Neves Improves Arsenal
There is no doubting that the Wolves man has proven himself in England and ticks so many boxes in what Arsenal are looking for. He’s good on the ball, calm in possession, doesn’t mind a tackle, and has a long-range stunner in his locker as well.
At £50m, the price is perhaps excessive. But then again, in the current market, it’s probably a fair price for a player who brings instant improvement to the starting XI.
Champions League qualification will be crucial though if Arsenal are to do this deal. If they do miss out, then Barcelona might fancy themselves as being able to tempt him.
