Reported Arsenal target Marcus Rashford had another disappointing night in Manchester United’s colours as the Red Devils drew 1-1 to Chelsea yesterday.

Ralf Rangnick’s side have had a terrible campaign. Things just haven’t worked for them this season and even the most positive United fan will agree that it’s just not good enough.

After back-to-back defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal, Manchester United had to get a positive result. They managed to draw last night, which should be viewed as a plus, but their performance was nowhere near the level required.

One player who has been at the end of some serious criticism since the end of the game is Rashford, who just couldn’t get going last night.

Arsenal-linked Marcus Rashford criticised for another disappointing display

In his 79 minutes on the pitch yesterday, Rashford had just 26 touches of the ball and didn’t even have a shot. He was hammered by the local media after the game last night. (SofaScore)

ManchesterWorld gave him a 3/0 rating and wrote: “Another woeful display from the attacker who seemed to spend most of the game strolling around the field. The winger offered little defensive cover and was slow to make decisions on the rare occasions he saw the ball.”

Manchester Evening News also rated him 3/10 and wrote: “In and out of the team like the Hokey Cokey and another forgettable performance. Did not pose any threat to Chelsea.”

The Express, on the other hand, were a bit more generous with 5/10. They wrote: “Another tough evening for Rashford who was whisked off for birthday boy Juan Mata after 79 minutes.”

TBR View:

It really is sad to see Rashford going through this. He was arguably the golden boy of English football just a few years ago, but his performances this term have been extremely poor.

90min revealed last month that the 24-year-old England international is considering his future at Manchester United. The £200,000-a-week man could leave at the end of the season and Arsenal have been named as an interested party.

The Gunners are on the lookout for two new strikers this summer with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both set to walk away at the end of their contracts.

Reports have claimed that Mikel Arteta is a fan of Rashford, but whether the Arsenal boss will make a move for him after his underwhelming recent performances remains to be seen.
