Wilshere picks Spurs target Mac Allister in World Cup dream team

Tottenham Hotspur have been given something of a seal of approval from an unlikely source should they decide to target Alexis Mac Allister, with Jack Wilshere naming the Argentinian in his World Cup team of the tournament.

Mac Allister, of course, is gearing for today’s final where Lionel Scaloni’s men will take on current holders France.

Much of the talk surrounding Argentina has, understandably, been focused on Lionel Messi. However, several of his teammates have done superbly to help Argentina to another final.

Recent reports from L’Interista claimed that Tottenham are admirers of the 23-year-old. Meanwhile, Inter Milan, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also keen on Mac Allister.

Ahead of the final, Wilshere provided his team of the tournament to The Sun. And alongside Jude Bellingham, the former Arsenal midfielder has picked the Spurs target.

And he will probably not be the only one including Mac Allister. He has been exceptional so far, with Brighton teammate Joel Veltman telling Brighton’s official website that he has been ‘amazing‘ in Qatar.

He has the ability to play all over the middle of the park. And that is becoming apparent as the rest of the Argentina side look to do all they can to get the very best out of their talisman.

Spurs will have obviously been aware of Mac Allister for some time. He had been in superb form for the Seagulls this season, scoring five times in 14 Premier League games.

It will not be easy therefore, for Tottenham to secure his signature should they make a move.

Judging by his team of the tournament, Wilshere will certainly hope that they have little luck.
