Arsenal fans can start getting excited about the new season ahead with their players back at London Colney for pre-season training.

The Gunners are set to jet off as part of their preparations this week but a return to Colney was the first step for the squad today, with some new faces on show for Gunners fans to take note of.

Arsenal have added a number of new players this summer. Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus have signed for big money, while Matt Turner has arrived to challenge Aaron Ramsdale in goal. Young winger Marquinhos has also arrived to add yet more depth to the talent pool at the club. However, one of the more notable faces on the training pictures shared by the club today was that of William Saliba.

The big French defender is back with Arsenal after a brilliant loan spell in Marseille, and he was captured among the players turning up at London Colney.

Saliba is set for a big role with Arsenal this season after it was reported that Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the defender.

Labelled as an ‘extraordinary‘ talent after his performances in Ligue 1 last term, there are high hopes among Arsenal fans that Saliba is like signing a new player this summer.

We saw this last season on social media at times, but there has been a clamour from Arsenal fans for some time to see William Saliba get game time.

It does look like he might get a chance this season. Of course, he needs to break up the partnership of White and Gabriel, but with Europa League football and the cup competitions, Saliba will get chances.

Arsenal fans will be watching on with intent, and seeing him finally at London Colney will be pleasing for them.
