William Saliba: Arsenal reportedly set for agent talks; three clubs make enquiries
A report from Football London has named the three clubs who have made loan enquiries for William Saliba as the defender’s agent prepares for talks with Arsenal about his future.
Saliba’s future at the Emirates remains a talking point with the Gunners closing in on a deal for Ben White.
The Frenchman is yet to make his Arsenal debut. And he spent the second-half of last season out on loan.
Football London reports that his agent is set to meet Edu for talks about his future. And if it is decided that he can leave, it would appear that there will be no shortage of takers.
According to Football London, Marseille, Nice and Newcastle United have all confirmed their interest with loan enquiries.
It is noted that Saliba will miss pre-season due to the Olympics. So that will do his hopes of catching Mikel Arteta’s eye few favours.
William Saliba may need another loan as Arsenal talks loom
Saliba is clearly an incredibly popular member of the squad amongst the fans. Many have been desperate to see him succeed following his move.
But with White apparently coming in, a loan is seemingly appearing to make more and more sense.
The 20-year-old – who earns £40,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – clearly has an incredibly high ceiling. But he needs the stage to prove exactly what he can do.
Of the options on the table, perhaps a Newcastle loan would make most sense. Arteta simply cannot ignore the youngster if he is shining in the Premier League.
But of course, it is still to be decided whether he will be leaving in any capacity this summer.
