The transfer saga involving Arsenal and Mykhaylo Mudryk seems to be heading in the right direction.

Links between the Gunners and the Shakhtar Donetsk star have been around since last summer.

And heading into the January transfer window, speculation linking Arsenal and Mudryk intensified.

From apparent come-get-me pleas on social media to public admiration for the Gunners, it’s a saga that’s had it all.

Now, with the January window in full swing, Arsenal seem to be plugging away in pursuit of the 21-year-old.

On Tuesday, the journalist who broke the Willian to Corinthians news story made a definitive claim about Mudryk to Arsenal.

ESPN Brasil reporter Jorge Baravalle claimed in August 2021 that the Brazilian had terminated his Gunners contract.

Now, Baravalle has taken to Twitter once again to claim that Mudryk ‘will be an Arsenal player’ soon.

Arteta ‘will get one of the jewels of European football’, added the journalist.

‘Very positive talks’

A bold and confident statement from Baravalle, one which Arsenal fans will hope is true.

On Tuesday, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs also suggested that talks are heading in the right direction.

He took to Twitter to say that ‘very positive talks’ took place between Arsenal and Shakhtar over Mudryk.

Better yet, Chelsea – who appeared to be hijacking the move – ‘have not placed any bid’, added Jacobs.

Arsenal have been flying in the Premier League and Europa League this season.

Now is the absolute best time to make the most of this to land one of the top talents in European football.

Mudryk is an ‘extraordinary’ player who’s able to ‘create a miracle’ on the pitch. He’s first-team ready and his ceiling is incredibly high .

Hopefully in the coming weeks Arsenal fans will be able to celebrate this signing. Things certainly seem to be heading in the right direction.
