TBR Football can exclusively confirm the latest developments around West Ham United target Kyle Walker-Peters.

The Hammers are currently looking to strengthen their ranks at right-back after being left short in that position.

Aaron Cresswell and Vladimir Coufal have both left West Ham, leaving Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the only senior right-back at the club.

Walker-Peters was set for a move to Besiktas, but that has now fallen through, and TBR Football can reveal that West Ham have played a part in this.

West Ham working hard to sign Kyle Walker-Peters as late approach sinks Besiktas move

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that the reason for Besiktas calling off their deal for Kyle Walker-Peters is because of a late approach from England.

TBR Football understands that the club in question is West Ham.

Tottenham have also retained a strong interest in Walker-Peters, who was previously on their books.

However, it is West Ham who have stepped up talks, and Walker-Peters has returned to England despite being in Turkiye for his medical.

“West Ham need depth but quality in depth,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“We know they are moving on from Cresswell, Coufal and Emerson so they need cover in defence on both sides, he could have a major role to play.

“There is interest elsewhere, West Ham are trying hard to get this one done.”

What Kyle Walker-Peters could bring to West Ham

Walker-Peters would be a solid Premier League-proven option for the Hammers if he were to join Graham Potter’s side.

The 28-year-old came through the ranks at Tottenham and made 48 appearances before leaving for Southampton in 2020.

Walker-Peters has made a real name for himself on the south coast, making 202 appearances before leaving this summer on a free transfer.

The England international is a great attack-minded full-back who is a superb dribbler and boasts an amazing first touch. He’s a good passer, a solid defender, and he’s very versatile.

Walker-Peters has been labelled ‘extraordinary‘ by former Saints boss Ruben Selles, while Dele Alli once deemed him “fantastic”.
