Journalist Sami Mokbel has shared what he has heard about what the Tottenham Hotspur fringe players really think of Ange Postecoglou.
Ange Postecoglou took absolutely no time to capture the imagination of Spurs fans following his appointment in the summer.
Tottenham are most definitely one of the best teams to watch in the Premier League. And they have done remarkably well to keep themselves within touching distance of the top-four despite losing so many key players to injury and international duty over the campaign.
What Tottenham fringe players think of Ange Postecoglou
And keeping the entire squad on side may be a key reason for Postecoglou’s success in the opening months of the season.

It is remarkable how each player who comes into the team seems to be able to step into the side quite seamlessly. And perhaps that has a lot to do with his man management capabilities.
Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast, journalist Mokbel shared that everyone within the club is keen to do well for Postecoglou – which is not always the case with other sides.
“It’s not just the players that he’s using that are responding to his methods and just how he is as a guy, a lot of the dealings and conversations that I’ve had with regards to Tottenham this season, and Ange’s approach to players, is that even the players who are on the peripheries of the squad, who would generally be upset with the way they’ve been treated, or not happy with the way they’ve been treated absolutely love him, because he’s just a straight up and down guy. He just tells them straight, look, I get you being frustrated that you’re not playing. And these are the reasons why you’re not playing,” he said.
“From everything that I’ve heard about Ange Postecoglou, he’s straight up and down. He’s honest. And even to the point where the players that he’s not playing want him to succeed,” he went on to add.
Performances on the pitch suggest Spurs squad are very much united
Of course, we on the outside, have very little idea of what goes on day to day at Hotspur Way. But judging by how some have performed when they have come in, Postecoglou definitely has everyone pulling in the same direction.
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg was quietly outstanding at the weekend. And he has actually never let the team down when he has come into the side this season.
Meanwhile, Giovani Lo Celso was a revelation before the turn of the year. And Bryan Gil has shown glimpses of his quality when he has had chances.
Emerson Royal and Ben Davies were fantastic at centre-back over the last few weeks. And that can only benefit the side, as those on the fringes push the regular starters.
