Report: What Richarlison did which left Fulham defender bamboozled and laying on the floor on Saturday
Tottenham continued their impressive form over the weekend as they saw off Fulham, with new signing Richarlison among those players to make an impression.
The Brazilian forward was handed his first Premier League start by Antonio Conte and produced a fine performance as he helped Spurs continued their excellent start to the campaign. Richarlison was one of Tottenham’s big money signings in the summer and he’s had to be patient, with the form of Dejan Kulusevski keeping him out so far.
However, Antonio Conte will have been delighted with his man. He produced a number of fine moments throughout and at times, had the Fulham defence panicking. Indeed, as reported in The Telegraph, there was a moment when Richarlison produced such a moment of brilliance that Fulham defender, Tosin Adarabioyo, simply fell to the floor in a heap as Richarlison danced past him.
It was the sort of moment of brilliance Everton fans had become accustomed to seeing at Goodison Park, and along with his fighting spirit and work ethic, Richarlison is quickly making a name for himself in Spurs colours.
TBR’s View: Richarlison Slotting In Nicely At Tottenham
Conte has the ideal sort of headache now at Tottenham. He is no longer relying just on Son, Kane and Kulusevski and instead has an international forward to call on as well.
Richarlison was brilliant against Fulham and there is more to come from the South American as well. He will relish the big Champions League nights at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the goals will come as well.
Some raised eyebrows when Spurs spent £50m or so on Richarlison in the summer but on this showing, coupled with his cameos off the bench, it seems smart business. Certainly, Fulham will be glad to see the back of him.
