'Superb all game': Alan Shearer was blown away by one Spurs player v Fulham and he didn't even score

Tottenham continued their fine start to Premier League life this season as they edged past Fulham yesterday thanks to goals from Kane and Hojbjerg.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte made five changes as he showed the new depth in his squad following a summer of heavy recruitment at the club. One of those new faces and changes yesterday was Brazilian forward Richarlison. And after playing a key role in winning at Nottingham Forest, the Brazilian was in fine form once more yesterday.

And speaking on the BBC’s Match of the Day last night, Alan Shearer admitted he was really impressed by how Richarlison played for Spurs v Fulham.

“He did everything else (but score). He was superb.”

“The front options now for Spurs are there. He’s left Kulusevski out who’s had a superb start to the season. But everything he did was spot on. He ran in behind, made it difficult. The understanding he had with Harry Kane, you can tell there’s something there. He was superb all game,” Shearer said on MOTD last night.

Richarlison will be hoping to keep his place in the XI for next weekend while Dejan Kulusevksi will also hope to return, with Heung-Min Son coming under pressure as it stands.

TBR’s View: Richarlison What Tottenham Needed

It’s not only the quality that Richarlison brings to the table but also his fight and attitude. He was excellent in his cameo at Forest and brilliant once again yesterday.

Shearer is right to praise the Tottenham man and over the course of the season, Spurs will find they’ve got value for money from signing the South American star.
