TBR Football can now exclusively reveal that Raheem Sterling is open to joining Crystal Palace this summer.
The England international finds himself in limbo at Chelsea following an unsuccessful loan spell at Arsenal last season, where he scored just one goal in 28 appearances.
Enzo Maresca has no plans to use the man born in Kingston, but a solution must be found as he still has two years remaining on his £325,000-a-week contract.
TBR Football can now provide exclusive details about Raheem Sterling and Crystal Palace as the 30-year-old aims to stay in London.
Exclusive: Raheem Sterling on Crystal Palace radar as Chelsea aim to arrange exit
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – can now confirm that Crystal Palace have been informed about the situation, and would consider signing the Liverpool academy graduate this summer.
We understand Fulham have also held talks about Sterling this summer, while West Ham are another Premier League club based in London who have been offered the chance to sign the Chelsea outcast.
Sources inform TBR Football that it would most likely be a loan deal if the four-time Premier League winner was to join any of the aforementioned clubs this summer.
Sterling is eager to stay in London, as his son Thiago plays for the Under-9 side at Arsenal.
What Oliver Glasner has already said about Raheem Sterling
Sterling – who Napoli have also looked at – only made 13 starts in all competitions for Arsenal last season, but one of those actually came against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.
The forward struggled to make an impact, but still received praise after the final whistle as Arsenal sealed a 3-2 win.
It was Oliver Glasner who praised Sterling, as the Crystal Palace boss called the Arsenal loanee a “fantastic” player when eulogising over the strength of Mikel Arteta’s options.
The Austrian said: “We know they have a great squad. Otherwise, it’s not possible to play for the Premier League. Last year, I think they were two points behind (Manchester) City.
“When you see the attacking players today – (Leandro) Trossard, (Gabriel) Jesus and Sterling, fantastic.”
