Arsenal seem to have opened another can of worms this weekend after they slammed the PGMOL following their loss at Newcastle.
Mikel Arteta slammed the officials after the game as he called things a ‘disgrace’ and ’embarrassing’ in a big rant to the press.
Since then, Arsenal have come out and backed their manager with a controversial statement. In that statement, it effectively begs for the PGMOL to make changes and address things.
The statement from Arsenal has gone down like a lead balloon to anyone outside of Arsenal.
And according to ESPN, the statement won’t be having any sort of impact on the actions of PGMOL or the Premier League.
PGMOL plan zero response to Arsenal statement
Arsenal are clearly looking for some sort of response and backlash with their statement. They obviously want action, albeit quite what they want, is unclear.
And according to ESPN, there will be no direct response from the PGMOL or Premier League to that statement from the Gunners.

It’s claimed that Arsenal’s statement will add nothing in the eyes of those in charge and as it stands, the PGMOL will simply ignore the comments from the Gunners.
Of course, Arsenal fans will once again be fuming about this and there’ll no doubt be a clamour on social media for more action to be taken.
However, the bottom line is that there is nothing that the PGMOL can really do. Sure, Howard Webb and co can go away and try and learn from things.
But the fact remains that in the end, the officials didn’t get anything majorly wrong against Newcastle.
VAR checked all the decisions and while the ‘push’ on Gabriel does appear to be the most obvious decision to give, even those calls are not given every single week.
Arsenal have thrown their toys out of the pram here and Mikel Arteta is not helping matters. In the end, all this is going to do is cost Arsenal games and ultimately, the title.
