Gary Neville is not the most popular person with Arsenal fans right now and he’s trying to get under their skin even more on Sunday afternoon.
Neville’s analysis of the Gunners’ loss at Newcastle has drawn fury from some Arsenal fans. The Sky pundit didn’t agree fully with all Mikel Arteta said and ultimately believes Arsenal are short in attacking areas this season.
Since then, Arsenal have released a statement supporting Mikel Arteta’s claims that the decisions against his team were an ’embarrassment’.
And responding to the news of that statement breaking, Neville seems to have gone in for some more beef with the Arsenal fans on social media.
Gary Neville trolls Arsenal fans after club statement on VAR
Taking to his social media account over on X in response to the statement from Arsenal, Neville was quick to respond.
However, he doesn’t seem in agreement with the club, instead, trying to wind Arsenal fans up further by insisting Kai Havertz should have been sent off.
Neville has had more than his fair share of run-ins with the Arsenal fans over the last few seasons.
He stuck to his guns all last season in insisting they’d fall short of Man City and was proven right.
This year, he has backed the Gunners but has made few friends along the way in North London and even less now he’s backing the PGMOL following yesterday.

A big step from Arsenal
Quite what Arsenal as a football club want to achieve from this is unknown. Nothing can be done about it now in hindsight and it stinks a bit of desperation.
Sure, on another day, the ball may have been given out or the push from Joelinton may have been given as well. But they weren’t this time, and clearly, the refs felt there wasn’t enough in any of the decisions to warrant over turning things.
Arsenal have took a huge punt by releasing this statement today. They will get fans from their side onboard but a lot of other supporters will call it desperation.
With regards Neville, well, he’s simply on the wind up. And doing quite the job in getting people to respond to him if his social media account is anything to go by!
