Tottenham are reportedly close to signing Radu Dragusin.
Spurs are set to sign the defender, with the Romanian reportedly set for a medical by the end of this week, and he could be the second signing through the door at Spurs after Timo Werner’s impending arrival.
Spurs may be signing Dragusin, but what type of player are they getting here?
You’d be forgiven for not knowing too much about this young man. After all, he’s only 21 years old and he’s played fewer than 50 top-flight games in his entire life.
Speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Charlie Eccleshare has given some insight into Dragusin’s style of play, stating that he’s spoken to people who know the defender in both Italy and Romania, and he’s been told that he’s a very front-footed defender.

Dragusin is a front-footed defender
Eccleshare shared what he’s heard about the defender.
“It’s not done yet, but fingers crossed on that one because he is the main target. He’s very front-footed, from speaking to people who know him in Romania and in Italy that’s something that comes across. From some of the clips I’ve watched he can be great but he can also be Romero-like smashing into tackles, that can be great, but it can also leave him exposed,” Eccleshare said.
Perfect for Postecoglou
This is exactly what Spurs fans will have wanted to hear about Dragusin.
If there’s one thing Ange Postecoglou needs in his backline it’s a front-footed defender.
You don’t need us to tell you that Postecoglou plays with a ridiculously high line which requires speedy, aggressive and proactive defenders.
Of course, playing in this way in the Premier League is completely different to playing like this in Serie A, but whether or not Dragusin has that level to his game remains to be seen.
Dragusin certainly sounds as though he could be an exciting signing for Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou.
