Manchester United staff have reportedly been ‘highly impressed’ with Mason Mount’s character since his switch to Old Trafford.
That’s according to The Athletic, with the outlet claiming many at the club sympathise with the Englishman after a slow start to life in Manchester.
Mason Mount completed a move to Manchester United from Chelsea over the summer for a fee worth up to £60 million.
The 24-year-old was attracting plenty of interest from a host of top clubs, with the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal said to be keen.
Indeed, Mikel Arteta reportedly believed Mount would end up at Arsenal. But United beat the Gunners to the punch.
It’s fair to say that Mount’s switch to the North West hasn’t gone according to plan so far, with the midfielder struggling to nail down a place in Erik ten Hag’s side.

Mount has registered just one assist in 12 appearances and picked up an injury in August which kept him out for four games.
Despite a difficult start to life in Manchester, it would appear that Mount has impressed staff members at United.
What United staff have been saying about Mount
The Athletic reports that Mount has made an impression on staff members at United due to his personality and character.
Indeed, there is sympathy for Mount at the club due to a difficult start. But staff ‘respect’ the way he’s continued to work hard.
Mount will be desperate to rediscover his best form at United as he bids to break back into the England squad.

The former Chelsea man has missed out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s squads ever since last year’s World Cup.
With Euro 2024 just around the corner, Mount faces an uphill task to break back into the side.
There’s no doubt that Mount is a top-quality midfielder when in form and he’s already displayed his class for Chelsea and England in the past.
But after United paid a sizeable fee to land him over the summer, he will need to start delivering at Old Trafford sooner rather than later.
