What Manchester United have now decided they will do if Brentford reject their third Bryan Mbeumo bid

Manchester United have tabled a third bid to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

The Red Devils opened talks with a £45 million bid plus £10 million for the Cameroon international, but that offer was rejected out of hand by the Bees.

Manchester United then returned with a £55 million plus £7.5 million bid, but that was also turned down by Keith Andrews’ side.

Now, an improved offer has been tabled, and United are waiting for a response from Brentford.

What Manchester United will do if Brentford reject their third Bryan Mbeumo bid

Manchester United have been very serious in their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo.

The Red Devils have been trying to sign him for about a month now, but negotiations with Brentford have been very difficult.

The latest offer, TBR Football can confirm, is worth £70 million, of which £65 million is guaranteed and the rest are attainable add-ons.

TBR revealed on Thursday that Manchester United are hopeful that this offer will get them Mbeumo, and that remains the case.

But, if Brentford reject this too, Ben Jacobs has claimed that the Red Devils will move on.

The journalist said on talkSPORT: “Manchester United’s perspective, I’m told, is that this bid is essentially their final one. So it either gets accepted or alternatively, they would be prepared to walk away.

“There is a halfway house where, if Brentford say most of the bid is fine, but it needs to be finessed in some way, then of course that might be a rejection by name, but by nature, all parties will feel that they can finalise the deal.

“But the point with the final bid is if Brentford counter and say we want £70-75 million up front plus add-ons, then Manchester United would then be prepared to move on to other targets.”

Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo stance is perfect

Manchester United’s pursuit of Mbeumo has dragged on more than anyone would’ve wanted.

The Red Devils would’ve wanted the player signed a long time ago, but negotiations with Brentford have not been easy at all.

However, Manchester United cannot be criticised if the third offer is rejected too. They have increased their initial bid by £20 million, which is a significant amount.

Unless there are serious concerns with the structure of the deal, Brentford should see this as a fair offer for Mbeumo.

If they don’t, Manchester United will be right to walk away and focus their efforts on signing another attacker this summer.
