Before Friday’s deadline, Manchester United have often been linked with a late bid for Ivan Toney, who’s destined to leave Brentford in the coming days.
Toney has been omitted from Thomas Frank’s squad for Brentford’s opening Premier League games owing to the heavy speculation over his future.
And despite already signing Joshua Zirkzee this summer and having Rasmus Hojlund in reserve, Man United are continually linked with a move for Toney.
Given his goalscoring in the Premier League, Toney obviously has big appeal, but now doesn’t seem the opportune time for United to make such an addition.
That being said, TBR Football understands that there has been no contact between United and Brentford over a proposed move for Toney.
Toney has been linked with a late move to a Premier League rival in the final few days of the window, but sources have confirmed that the only interest shown in Toney in recent weeks is from Saudi Pro-League side Al-Hilal
Al-Hilal have held talks with Brentford but have not agreed a fee as of yet, although Toney has accepted a contract worth over £400k-a-week.
Man United not planning Ivan Toney move after signing Manuel Ugarte
Links between Chelsea and Toney are now being downplayed as the west London club focus on a move for Victor Osimhen.
Therefore, it was claimed that United had shown an interest but this has been talked down by Old Trafford sources.

Manuel Ugarte will be Erik ten Hag’s final major outlay this summer, unless Casemiro or Victor Lindelof make a shock late exit – both are currently expected to stay.
United are also hugely pleased with the progress of Zirkzee since his arrival this summer – a player they would not want to block the path for.
Of course, Ten Hag already has something of a puzzle fitting Zirkzee and Hojlund into the same team when both are fit as it stands.
And Toney’s arrival would stunt the progress of the youngsters, who United have invested a huge amount of money into.
All in all, it has to be considered that INEOS have enjoyed a lot of success this summer, especially once Ugarte is announced.
