TBR Football have received an update on what the development involving Igor Julio at Crystal Palace means for Marc Guehi and Liverpool.

Igor was set to join Crystal Palace on loan from Brighton – arriving with another defender in Jaydee Canvot – as Liverpool agreed a £35m fee for Guehi.

However, the Brazilian has now suddenly decided to walk out on Crystal Palace and join West Ham instead, leaving many to wonder if Liverpool will see their deal collapse too.

TBR Football can now confirm that the situation involving Igor is not expected to have any impact on Marc Guehi joining Liverpool.

Exclusive: Liverpool still set to sign Marc Guehi

Sources close to the situation have now informed Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for TBR Football – that the England international is still expected to complete his £35m move to Anfield.

We understand Crystal Palace never viewed Igor as a direct replacement for Guehi, and are still set to announce the £25m arrival of another central defender in Canvot, who has earned rave reviews at Toulouse.

Sources add that Oliver Glasner is furious after Steve Parish agreed to sell the Crystal Palace captain so late in the transfer window.

Crystal Palace have asked about Fikayo Tomori and Axel Disasi

Crystal Palace have enquired to AC Milan about Strahinja Pavlovic in the hunt to find an adequate replacement for Guehi, but that is a deal which seems too difficult to complete.

However, we understand Crystal Palace have asked AC Milan about another of their defenders in Fikayo Tomori, who has similarities to Guehi in the fact he is a Chelsea academy graduate and an England international.

The Eagles have also asked Chelsea about Axel Disasi, who is surplus to requirements under Enzo Maresca and in need of a new club.
