'What I am told': Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs are about to sign 'the next Federico Chiesa'
Spurs are reportedly closing in on the signing of Bryan Gil.
And Fabrizio Romano claims Tottenham’s Fabio Paratici sees the 20-year-old as “the next Federico Chiesa”.
Spurs is currently a hotbed of transfer speculation as Paratici looks to bolster the N17 ranks.
Romano claimed on Thursday that Gil to Tottenham is a done deal, with Erik Lamela going the other way.
Paratici signed Chiesa for Juventus in October last year on a loan-to-buy deal.
Romano says Paratici earned some criticism for how much he spent on the 23-year-old – potentially upwards of £50million.
However, Chiesa went on to claim an impressive 15 goals and 11 assists for Juve last term, before helping Italy win Euro 2020.
Romano said on Don Robbie YouTube channel: “They are convinced that he could be like a Federico Chiesa deal for Fabio Paratici.
“This is what I am told.
“Fabio Paratici signed Federico Chiesa last year from Fiorentina, and many people here in Italy said it was a lot of money, it could reach around €60m (£51.3m) with add-ons included.
“Fabio Paratici is convinced that Bryan Gil could be the next Federico Chiesa. That’s why he decided to go for him.”
