Dominic Solanke has arrived at Tottenham as the club’s record signing from Bournemouth for £65m.
The striker joins Tottenham coming off the back of the best season of his career.
Some believe the signing of Solanke could be a risk, but his form last season was incredible.
Indeed, Solanke netted 19 league goals last season, but it’s not just his performances on the pitch that are setting tongues wagging.
According to Seb Stafford-Bloor, speaking on The Athletic FC Podcast, people in football have also been taken aback by Solanke’s character and personality.

What people in football are saying about Dominic Solanke
According to the journalist, people in football have been very impressed by Solanke’s personality and character.
“What I will say is that everyone you speak to about Dom Solanke talks about what a good personality he has and what a good character he is,” Stafford-Bloor said.
“One of the things that Postecoglou brings up time and time again when you talk to him about the players he signs is that he wants the feeling that they have enthusiasm to play for Spurs.”
What Ange Postecoglou has said about signing the right characters
This will be music to the ears of Ange Postecoglou.
Indeed, the Tottenham manager has made it clear in the past that he only wants to sign good characters.
“It’s everything for me,” Postecoglou told TNT Sports about recruiting players with the right character.
“One wrong character in your dressing room is a lot of problems. I will always forsake the quality of a player for the right character.
“When you’re working at this level – I know the fees we pay these days are ridiculous – I don’t think there’s a lot of difference between the best quality and the next level, it’s really small. But the character makes the big jump. I put a lot of stock in that.
“There are plenty of deals I’ve walked away from where I didn’t get that feeling that this person – not because I didn’t like the person – but he doesn’t want to come for the right reasons, they need to come for the right reasons.
Postecoglou has spent a lot of time analysing the market looking for the right striker, and it finally looks as though he’s found the ideal number nine in terms of both talent and personality.
Solanke could be an absolute hit at Tottenham.
