TBR Football can exclusively confirm the latest developments involving Arsenal’s pursuit of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
Arsenal have enjoyed a fruitful summer on the transfer front and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze remains in their sights as they look to strengthen further.
Eze’s release clause is understood to be around £68million, but Arsenal have been hesitant to meet this fee and would ideally like to do a deal below that sum.
Reports have been doing the rounds claiming Arsenal have a few more weeks to make their decision, but TBR Football can reveal that Eze’s clause is actually set to expire on Friday.
With that in mind, TBR Football can confirm Palace’s stance towards selling Eze now that clubs must come to an agreement, along with the player’s thoughts about joining Arsenal.

Crystal Palace open to selling Eberechi Eze as player remains hopeful of move
Crystal Palace sources have confirmed to TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that Eze’s release clause expires on Friday 1 August.
This means any club who wants Eze will now have to come to an agreement with Palace, who in turn are still open to doing business.
Arsenal have been in talks with Eze, something Palace were aware of, and the player remains determined to join the Gunners.
As TBR Football revealed earlier this week, Palace are open to Eze’s sale but they always wanted more than his clause which was already over £60million.
“Initially it was believed that Eze’s clause ran until the middle of August,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.
“However, it has been confirmed that it expires at the start of the month.
“Nobody was willing to pay Eze’s clause in full but now anyone wanting him will need to reach agreement.
“We are told that, as it stands, only Arsenal have made any sort of move so far this summer.
“Eze firmly believed that he would be joining Arsenal this summer and that remains his desire.”

How Arsenal would utilise Eberechi Eze in their squad
TBR Football recently confirmed that some Arsenal insiders are unsure where Eze would feature in the squad.
Some see him as a No. 10, but the Gunners already have Martin Odegaard, Ethan Nwaneri, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice who can play there.
“Arsenal, as we confirmed, are coy over where they would see the player featuring within their squad but he remains a player of interest,” Bailey reiterated.
| Position | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Attacking Midfield | 74 | 25 | 15 |
| Left Winger | 32 | 6 | 6 |
| Central Midfield | 23 | 6 | 3 |
| Left Midfield | 20 | 3 | 1 |
| Right Winger | 2 | – | – |
| Right Midfield | 1 | – | – |
However, Eze’s versatility means he could play on the left wing, a position Arsenal are said to be looking to strengthen.
Leandro Trossard is keen on a move away from Arsenal, while Gabriel Martinelli is not considered unsellable by the hierarchy.
