Liverpool are keen to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer.
The Sweden international has made it clear to the Magpies that he would like to explore a move away from the club in this window.
That is why Isak was left out of Newcastle’s tour of Asia and will not be available when they face Arsenal in Singapore on Sunday.
Liverpool’s dream target is Isak, even though they have already signed Hugo Ekitike. But, there is one concern about the Newcastle star that has put off other suitors.
What has concerned other clubs regarding Liverpool target Alexander Isak
Alexander Isak is one of the best strikers in the world.
The 26-year-old, on his day, can almost single-handedly win you the game, and he has proven his quality in the Premier League over the last few years.
Newcastle United know how good Isak is, and that is why there have been rumours that they want £150 million if they are to sell him.
Liverpool have refused to rule out signing Isak despite his big price tag in this window, but the stance of other clubs is slightly different.
The Independent have claimed that every club on the planet views Isak as an elite player, but there are serious concerns over his injury history.
“While virtually every club sees Isak as an outstanding talent, there is some doubt about whether £150m is worth it for a player who has recently struggled to consistently play in full European schedules without injury,” the outlet writes.

Alexander Isak’s injury history since joining Newcastle United
Injuries haven’t always been kind to Isak since he joined Newcastle in 2022.
The Swede, when he is fit, is good enough to start for every club in the world, but can Liverpool risk paying a British transfer record fee after looking at his injury history?
| Type of injury | No of days injured | Games missed |
| Groin | 5 | 1 |
| Hamstring | 4 | 1 |
| Broken toe | 34 | 7 |
| Groin | 25 | 4 |
| Groin | 31 | 8 |
| Thigh | 107 | 18 |
Isak has missed 39 games for club and country over the last three seasons, which is a very worrying record.
Clubs are right to be concerned about his history, especially if his price has been fixed at a mammoth £150 million.
However, with Ekitike also available, Liverpool can do a much better job of managing Isak’s minutes if they do sign him this summer.
