Timo Werner is set to sign for Tottenham in the coming hours.
The German is reportedly flying into London to do his medical, and it may not be long before we get an official announcement on that front.
Of course, we’ve seen Werner play in England before, and it’s fair to say that things didn’t go to plan for the German at Chelsea.
However, while Werner didn’t perform well on the pitch for the Blues, he was apparently impressive behind the scenes.
Indeed, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Matt Law has been discussing Werner’s personality and he says that the German is a great lad who was beloved at Chelsea.

Werner is a great lad
Law spoke about the striker.
“One thing I would say is that he’s a great lad. I dealt with him a lot at Chelsea and the dressing room will love him, even when things were going bad at Chelsea he was very popular behind the scenes. I know coaches and clubs do a lot of due dilligence into the characters of players, and I’m sure that is a huge thing for Ange. He will slot in well in that dressing room, he will be well-liked at the club, he’s a great lad, seriously,” Law said.
Perfect for Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou loves working with talented footballers, but more than anything he likes to work with good characters.
The Australian wants a harmonious dressing room where everyone gets on and bring the standards up, and, by the sounds of it, Werner’s personality is in that mould.
Hopefully, Postecoglou is able to put his arm around Werner and start to get the best out of him once again, because at his best a few years ago he was an absolutely devastating attacking option.
This could be a move that works for all parties.
