Chelsea slipped to a second consecutive Premier League defeat after losing 3-1 to Brighton at home.
Enzo Maresca’s side took the lead through Enzo Fernandez but were reduced to 10 men again after Trevoh Chalobah was dismissed in the second half for a poor challenge on Georginio Rutter.
That opened the floodgates at Stamford Bridge and Danny Welbeck pounced to equalise, before Maxim De Cuyper’s header completed the turnaround in stoppage time.
There was still time for Welbeck to notch his brace in the 100th minute and the final whistle was greeted with a smattering of boos from unhappy Chelsea supporters.
Judging by the reaction from the club’s hierarchy, they were not best pleased, either.

Chelsea co-owner heads to the dressing rooms
As reported by the Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law, Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali was spotted marching down to the dressing room area inside the stadium.
He is said to have been joined by sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, while co-director of recruitment Joe Shields and director of global recruitment Sam Jewell were also there.
Maresca later confirmed the visit had taken place, but the leadership group did not address the players.
“We have an office inside the changing room, where after every game, we sit and we talk about the game,” said Maresca. “But they did not say anything to the players. It was nothing completely different compared to the rest of the games.”
Brighton’s players were still celebrating their three points on the pitch when the co-owner and his trusted lieutenants headed straight inside.
The result pushed the Blues down to seventh place in the Premier League, and they have not won in the top-flight since the recent international break.

Ill-discipline costs Chelsea again
For the second week running, Chelsea saw a player sent off for a rash tackle.
Chalobah will now miss their next match against Liverpool after being shown a straight red card, having fouled Diego Gomez as the last man.
He was not initially dismissed, but an intervention from VAR saw him handed his marching orders.
Robert Sanchez was also sent off in the 2-1 defeat against Manchester United last weekend after rushing out of his box and clattering into Bryan Mbeumo.
The cautions are slowly but surely stacking up, and Maresca has been forced to rip up his game plans all too often already this season. It is a habit that cannot continue.
