Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has hailed Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara after Gabriel Jesus included him in his five-a-side team.

The Spaniard made his first appearance of the season against the Gunners on Sunday. Sadly, Thiago couldn’t make enough of a difference in that game, but his return is a huge boost for Liverpool.

Martin Odegaard impressed by Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara

Thiago Alcantara came to Liverpool with a lot of hype back in 2020.

The Spaniard was a superstar at Bayern Munich, and when he made his move to Anfield, everyone expected him to be just as good, if not better.

However, Thiago’s time at Liverpool has been troubled by injuries. The midfielder has missed over 100 games for club and country over the last three-and-a-half years, which is just a terrible record.

Thiago is back now, and everybody knows how good a player he is – even Arsenal stars Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard.

The two Gunners stars picked their most skilful five-a-side teams on Prime Video Sport’s TikTok handle yesterday.

After Jesus picked Thiago for his midfield, Odegaard quickly said: “What a player!”

Thiago could have a big impact for Liverpool

Even though many view Thiago as unreliable now after so many injury issues over the last three years, nobody can deny his quality.

The Spaniard is among the most technically gifted midfielders we’ve seen over the last decade. He can score goals, create chances and has the experience of winning big trophies.

He is exactly what Liverpool need right now, and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping he can stay fit until the end of the season.

If Thiago manages to do that, the Reds have every chance of going all the way in the title race.
