Declan Rice has sent a message to West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta after catching up with him at the end of the Carabao Cup game at the London Stadium this week.

Arsenal suffered a shock 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Hammers. Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen starred against the Gunners, but 26-year-old Paqueta was quietly brilliant as well. Rice has now sent him a message on Instagram.

Declan Rice sends message to Lucas Paqueta after West Ham beat Arsenal

It has been a few days since West Ham battered Arsenal, but it was only last night that Declan Rice decided to be active on Instagram.

The Englishman received a mixed welcome back at the London Stadium. Some fans got up to applaud him, while others decided to boo Rice on Wednesday.

There has already been a lot of debate over whether West Ham fans are right to boo Rice, but it looks like the Englishman is still a very popular man inside the club.

Lucas Paqueta, who is one of the Hammers’ best players now, posted a picture of himself with Rice on his Instagram Story last night.

The Arsenal man reposted the image on his own Story and wrote: “What a player! So good to see you, brother!”

West Ham look good even without Rice

Everybody felt Declan Rice’s departure in the summer would be a massive blow for West Ham, but the Irons haven’t been too bad without him.

Edson Alvarez has replaced the Englishman in the middle of David Moyes’ park, and he has done really well. Paqueta has been excellent too, as he was against Arsenal on Wednesday.

All things considered, Arsenal signing Rice from West Ham has benefitted everyone. The Gunners got themselves a world-class player, the midfielder gets to play in the Champions League, and the Irons made a ton of money by selling him.

To make it sweeter for West Ham fans, they got one over Rice’s Arsenal on his return to the London Stadium this week. We’re sure they would’ve enjoyed that win.
