Football journalist Carlo Garganese has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have a very real chance of getting a deal agreed with Juventus for Weston McKennie.
The American is currently in Qatar with the USMNT and he’s having a fine campaign. His performances at the World Cup have been really impressive, and it won’t be a surprise at all to see him switch clubs in the January transfer window.

Weston McKennie is ‘definitely gettable’ for Tottenham in January
McKennie has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and Tottenham have reportedly been the most interested club over the last year.
Spurs have constantly been rumoured to be interested in the American, who was signed for Juventus when Fabio Paratici was calling the shots in Turin. The Spurs sporting director apparently thinks McKennie is a ‘superstar,’ according to Alasdair Gold.
After numerous transfer rumours over the last 12 months, a report from Tuttosport claimed earlier this week that Tottenham are making a big push to sign the Juventus midfielder.
Garganese has now claimed that Juventus view McKennie as ‘disposable’. He also says that fans of the Turin club don’t really fancy the American, which makes him a very gettable target for Spurs in the upcoming January transfer window.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “McKennie is somebody that they (Juventus) see as disposable.
“He’s not hugely popular with the fans either so he’s definitely someone that’s gettable. Of course, Paratici signed Kulusevski, he signed Bentancur, they’ve done business together so it’s definitely something that could make sense.“

TBR View:
McKennie, still only 24, is a fine talent.
The American hasn’t quite fulfilled his potential at Juventus, but his performances in Qatar over the last two weeks have shown the world that he’s a really good player.
Tottenham’s central midfielders at the moment are a lot more defensive than McKennie. Rodrigo Bentancur has done really well when he’s given the license to push forward, but Antonio Conte mostly views him as a number six.
A player like McKennie could well be the attack-minded central midfielder that Tottenham need, but whether Spurs will make a move for him next month remains to be seen.
