West Ham set sights on £30m-rated Brazil international Arsenal also want

West Ham United have reportedly expressed an interest in Fluminense midfielder and Arsenal target Andre Trindade.

The Hammers could be set to scupper Fulham’s recent interest in the Brazil international, according to Trivela.

Back in October, 90Min claimed that Arsenal director Edu has personally watched Andre in action.

The Gunners could do with bolstering their midfield ranks. Thomas Partey’s injury record is concerning, while the jury’s still out on Fabio Vieira.

Although West Ham’s midfield is looking good, another solid option wouldn’t do the Hammers any harm in case of injuries, suspensions or fatigue.

Meanwhile, Andre is expected to leave Fluminense in the January transfer window, which comes at the end of the Brazilian season.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with Fulham in recent weeks, but it looks as though discussions have hit a stumbling block.

According to Football Transfers, the Cottagers believe that, by keeping Joao Palhinha, a new addition in midfield is now unnecessary.

Trivela, meanwhile, stressed that there is nothing certain between the relevant parties, which allows the likes of West Ham into the picture.

As well as the Hammers and Arsenal, Man United are apparently keeping tabs on Andre too.

As for Liverpool, who were previously linked with the player, they have reportedly cooled their interest since the summer.

Although no club has made a move yet, the Brazilian outlet claims that scenario ‘should not take long to change’.

West Ham and Arsenal linked with ‘the best defensive midfielder in the Brazilian top flight’

Whether West Ham, Arsenal, Man United, Fulham or anyone else sign Andre, whoever wins the race will be getting one of Brazil’s best young midfield talents.

He has been described as a ‘scaringly good controller of tempo’, ‘a 10/10 recyler and ball winner’ and ‘a mix of Thiago and Wijnaldum’.

Meanwhile, journalist Graeme Bailey told Talking Transfers last year: “Many people think he’s the best defensive midfielder in the Brazilian top flight at the moment.”

Andre has already made 170 competitive appearances for his club, an outstanding tally at just 22 years of age. He has also won four caps for Brazil.

And in terms of price tag, Bailey has previously reported that Fluminense could want around £30million for him.
