Report: West Ham in talks to sign 'excellent' international striker as well as Chelsea's Broja
West Ham United are looking to get busy in the transfer market this week and could be close to a number of deals.
Reports this morning have claimed that a double deal for Jesse Lingard and Amadou Onana could be close, while the Hammers are also said to be confident of signing Armando Broja from Chelsea. However, things might not be stopping there for David Moyes.
According to Sky Sports News, West Ham are also in talks to sign the ‘excellent‘ Italian striker, Gianluca Scamacca. The Italian had been linked with a move to Arsenal before the Gunners landed Gabriel Jesus last month.
However, it is West Ham who are looking to press ahead and complete a deal for Scamacca now. The striker has been in fine form over the last year or so, hitting 16 goals for Sassuolo last term. Still only 23, the Italian forward is known for being a traditional number nine type forward.
David Moyes has been searching for a new striker ever since cashing in on Sebastien Haller. The big striker has now gone on to sign for Borussia Dortmund after excelling with Ajax. The Hammers, meanwhile, still haven’t got a direct replacement in the door.
Scamacca, it seems, could well be the one.
TBR’s View: Scamacca Can Boost West Ham
There’s no way that Moyes can go into the new season with just Michail Antonio leading the line. As good as Antonio is, he does get injured at times and even if he didn’t, the Hammers need depth.
Scamacca brings a class and elegance to the fold while also being young enough to improve. Moyes will enjoy working with a player who loves being a focal point in attack.
If the Hammers can land Scamacca and the others mentioned here, then it will be quite the week for the club.
