West Ham now make first move to sign 21-year-old striker recommended to David Moyes

West Ham United have made an approach to sign young forward Adam Hlozek and the 21-year-old could even more in January.

A report from 90min has provided more details on David Moyes and Tim Steidten’s plans for the upcoming transfer window.

It feels like the summer window has only just closed but already clubs are identifying areas where they need to improve.

On the whole, it’s been a very positive start to the season at the London Stadium.

West Ham are currently top of their group in the Europa League and in contention for European qualification in the Premier League too.

Their recruit in the summer already looks like a success, with James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus appearing to be astute additions.

Moyes will know how important it is to keep moving forward in this league.

Adam Hlozek has now been identified by West Ham as a potential attacking signing to add to their ranks.

Currently, Michael Antonio is Moyes’s first-choice forward, although he has earmarked one player in the squad to potentially play that role in the future.

Moyes might be calling on two of the players in his squad to ask for some advice on the young striker.

West Ham make Hlozek approach

The report from 90min suggests that Hlozek is ‘high on their transfer radar’ and an enquiry has already been made about his availability.

Hlozek joined Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen last year and West Ham were interested in him then too.

Moyes is already understood to have been recommended Hlozek by both Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal.

The trio have all turned out for Czechia together and he wouldn’t be the first Czech player recruited since the pair arrived at the London Stadium.

Alex Kral’s loan move saw him play just a single minute of Premier League football although he’s now playing in the Champions League with Union Berlin.

Hlozek hasn’t been prolific for Leverkusen this season but would be an interesting signing for the future for West Ham.

He was linked with Arsenal before joining Leverkusen but could get his move to London after all.

The Hammers do need to come up with a contingency plan for when Antonio does eventually move on and keeping the Czech connection going might not be the worst idea.
