West Ham have a great chance of beating Arsenal to 'unbelievable' £80k-a-week star - TBR View
West Ham United and Arsenal are just two of the clubs linked with Chelsea ace Tammy Abraham in recent weeks.
West Ham will be competing on four fronts next year, while Arsenal are hoping to bounce back after a poor 2020-21.
However, The Sun claims that both the Hammers and the Gunners aren’t willing to spend £40million on Abraham.
Likewise, Aston Villa are apparently eyeing the 23-year-old, but see him as too pricey.
Therefore, The Sun believes Chelsea might reluctantly drop Abraham’s price tag from £40million to £35million.
And West Ham will probably fancy their chances of beating Arsenal to the 6ft 3in marksman.
West Ham in Europa League and in need of firepower
A new centre-forward is a priority for the Hammers, and Abraham is a top talent who would bolster their front line.
Meanwhile, Arsenal already have several strong strikers on their books – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and up-and-coming talent Folarin Balogun.
Therefore, Abraham might not get as much first-team football and as many starts as he probably would at West Ham.
This is something he’d surely be thinking about when he considers his next move.
Also, unlike Arsenal, the Hammers can offer the £80,000-a-week ace European football next season.
Do West Ham or Arsenal want Abraham more?
Who would want Abraham more?
A club currently short on centre-forwards set to fight on four fronts, or one that’s well stocked up front and without the added rigours of European football?
West Ham really ought to push the boat out for Abraham this summer and, if they make a strong enough case, could probably beat Arsenal to his signature.
And given Jack Grealish described him as “unbelievable” and said he “loved playing with him”, that’s a pretty big seal of approval regarding his quality.
