West Ham fans react to reported interest in Arsenal player

A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on recent reports from The Sun suggesting that the Hammers want Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Maitland-Niles’s future is reportedly set to lie away from the Emirates. The Sun reports that he is set to be sold to hand Mikel Arteta’s transfer kitty a boost.

And there appears to be plenty of Premier League sides interested in offering the 22-year-old a fresh challenge this summer. The Sun suggests that every London-based side, apart from Chelsea, is keen.

That, of course, means that the Hammers are amongst those chasing Maitland-Niles. It is suggested by The Sun that Arsenal want £30 million for him, but may be forced to accept £20 million.

It may come as a surprise to some Arsenal fans that Maitland-Niles is being allowed to leave.

‘Would be a good signing’

He has impressed in recent times, and his FA Cup final display was lauded by a number of Gunners supporters.

And there are plenty of West Ham fans who are imploring the club to do all they can to sign Maitland-Niles.

He would offer plenty of versatility. And plenty of supporters appear to believe that he could prove to be a bargain signing if Arsenal are willing to accept £20 million.
