‘Well deserved’, ‘Love it mate’: Diaz and Elliott react on Instagram to Liverpool player’s big moment
It was certainly a day to remember at Anfield on Saturday, as Liverpool recorded a breathtaking 9-0 win against Bournemouth.
Jurgen Klopp’s side matched the biggest ever victory in the Premier League as they won their first league match of the season.
One player in particular will never forget yesterday’s win, as new signing Fabio Carvalho scored his first goal for the club.
Signed from Fulham in the summer for £5m, the young Portuguese attacking midfielder has already impressed since his arrival at Anfield.
Jordan Henderson already believes Carvalho will be a ‘big player’ at Liverpool.
Full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has also been raving about the 19-year-old, who’s now making harder and harder for Klopp to leave him out the starting line-up.
Liverpool players react to Carvalho goal
The Portuguese under-21 international took to social media after finding the net for the first time.
He posted after scoring Liverpool’s eighth: “Wow, special feeling! First win and first goal at Anfield. Fans were unbelievable”
Plenty of his former and current teammates replied, and were over the moon for the youngster.
Luis Diaz replied saying “Well deserved brother”, while fellow Liverpool youngster Tyler Morton said “Get in! Love it mate!”
Goalkeeper Adrian added, “First of many Fab” and his fellow former Fulham teammate Harvey Elliott said “Love to see it”.
It’s not Carvalho’s first Premier League goal, netting against Southampton two seasons ago after breaking into Scott Parker’s first team at Fulham.
The Portuguese was vital to Fulham’s promotion campaign last term, with 18 goal involvements as the Whites won the league title.
Liverpool’s £5m move for Carvalho looks more and more like an incredible bargain with every performance.
Carvalho clearly has the support of his Liverpool teammates, and that will be vital to his development as he looks to kick on and became a key player for Klopp at Anfield.
