Marcus Rashford’s once promising career at Manchester United looks to have fizzled out.
Rashford was allowed to join Barcelona on loan during the summer transfer window after being placed in Ruben Amorim’s bomb squad.
He has enjoyed a bright start to life in LaLiga, popping up with five goal contributions already this season, but he is unlikely to be welcomed back into the fold at Old Trafford while Amorim remains in charge.
The situation is a stark contrast to his early days at his boyhood club, when he tormented defenders with his wing wizardry and brought the Stretford End to their feet.
However, Wayne Rooney did all he could to help Marcus Rashford blossom again.

Wayne Rooney told Marcus Rashford to go back to basics
Rooney is not impressed with the quality of Premier League forwards and believes the days of taking on a full-back before crossing or shooting are long gone.
But this simple trick is exactly what enabled Rashford to rediscover his feet at Manchester United.
“I spoke to Marcus Rashford on this a couple of years ago, because I felt he was slowing the ball down too much and passing back,” Rooney said on The Wayne Rooney Show.
“I said, right, when you get the ball, all you need to do is get a full-back one v one, knock it past him and run.
“They won’t catch you, and even if they do, you might win a free-kick, might win a penalty, you get a throw-in high up the pitch.
“Be positive, because if you ask any defender, that’s what they don’t like, and then run in behind off the ball. It’s so simple to be effective that way.”

Marcus Rashford has heeded Wayne Rooney’s advice
While he clearly dropped below his best levels towards the end of his spell at United, Rashford has gone back to basics at Barcelona, and the approach is working wonders.
All of a sudden, the 27-year-old is threatening to get the better of his man every time he bombs down the wing, and he even pulled out the flicks and tricks with England during the last international break.
He would do well to continue to heed Rooney’s advice.
The duo played 32 games together at club level, while Rooney remains United’s all-time record scorer with a sensational 253 goals to his name. There aren’t many better examples around.
