Charles Watts has told his YouTube channel that he has his doubts about the chances of Arsenal sealing a move for Victor Osimhen this summer, with journalist saying he feels that a deal would be unlikely.
The Gunners are continuing their pursuit of a new striker this summer. With the international break now out of the way, the fans will be hoping that progress is made.

Of course, Gabriel Jesus looks to be Arsenal’s top target. They are set to hold talks with the Manchester City star’s representatives in the near future.
However, Mikel Arteta looks to be keeping his options open. Reports this week claimed that Arsenal had made a bid for Osimhen worth £51 million.

The bid was quickly rejected. Napoli want at least £85 million for the Nigeria international before they even consider holding talks with any admirer about a move.
‘A very difficult one to do’
Watts was asked about the likelihood of Arsenal signing Osimhen. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, he suggested that a move from Stadio Diego Armando Maradona is looking doubtful. But he did not rule it out entirely either.
“It’s going to be a very difficult one to do: A – he’s going to be really expensive, B – Napoli are not an easy club to deal with, we know that. And as far as I’m aware Jesus is absolutely Arsenal’s priority when it comes to signing a new forward this summer,” he told his YouTube channel.
“Whether they have to turn to option B, option C, option D even as the summer progresses, we’ll wait and see. But at the moment, Jesus very much is the priority.
“So in terms of how good are Arsenal’s chances of Osimhen, I wouldn’t say they’re great. But I can’t rule it out at all. And the fact that they have held talks shows that he is a target. But it’s going to be a very difficult one to do.”
Arsenal move for Osimhen unlikely
Osimhen is a fantastic talent. He has been described as a ‘phenomenal‘ player. And he has scored 66 goals in all competitions across the last four seasons – in a number of leagues, too.
However, paying £85 million for him would be a gamble. Like Alexandre Lacazette, his tallies for league goals have tended to be in the low double-figures.
So given they can land Jesus for considerably less, it is no surprise that Arsenal are prioritising the Manchester City star in this window.
