Watts reacts to reports Thomas Partey is open to leaving Arsenal

Charles Watts has suggested in a video on his YouTube channel that he has been told that there is nothing in the reports claiming that Thomas Partey is open to leaving Arsenal with the midfielder having a problematic relationship with Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal fans have seen some of the best of Partey this season. Arteta himself, lauded his improvement during the campaign. And it appeared to be a big blow for the Gunners when they lost the Ghanaian to injury in their push to finish in the top-four in the Premier League.

However, it appeared that there was a possibility that Partey may have actually made his final appearance for the club.

Reports from AS (via Daily Express) claimed that Juventus wanted to pitch a swap deal involving Partey and Arthur Melo. The report claimed that there had been constant disagreements between Partey and Arteta.

Of course, Arthur has been a target for Arsenal in the past. So supporters may have feared about the likelihood of a swap.

However, Watts has alleviated any of those concerns. He insisted that he has learned that there are no issues between the manager and the midfielder.

“As far as I’m aware, there’s absolutely nothing to worry about on this one,” he told his YouTube channel. “People that I’ve spoken to who are close to Thomas Partey are saying this is absolutely not the case. ‘I don’t know where it’s come from. It’s just people making trouble’.

“There is no rift, nothing of the sort. They’ve got a very good relationship, Thomas Partey and Mikel Arteta. He’s absolutely happy at Arsenal.”

Arsenal fans will be pleased by Watts’ claim about Thomas Partey reports

Arsenal fans were hugely excited when they signed Partey. He had established himself as one of the best holding midfielders playing in Europe at Atletico Madrid.

It has taken him some time to find his best form in North London. But everything did appear to click for Partey in the last few months.

So the supporters will be pleased to hear that there is nothing to worry about.
