‘Wasn’t as good’: Kane shares what he was unhappy with in Tottenham win

Harry Kane has told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports of one area of his game he was not happy with during Tottenham Hotspur’s stunning 5-0 win over Everton this week.

Kane was the star of the show as Antonio Conte’s side got back to winning ways. He produced a brilliant finish for his first, finding the bottom corner after timing his run perfectly to get onto a through ball from Matt Doherty.

But if his first goal was good, his second was world-class. Much like his strike at Leeds, he managed to volley the ball home from a tight angle on the left-hand side of the penalty area.

It was another amazing display of goalscoring from the 28-year-old. But it turns out that it was not a flawless performance from the Tottenham talisman.

Some may have expected that his biggest complaint would be that he did not get a hat-trick. But it seems that he was actually not too happy about his passing.

“Personally I like to sense the game and see where the space is. Sometimes this season you’ll see me stay high the whole team, if I think that’s the right thing to do, run in behind. I still feel that’s a big part of my game,” he told Sky Sports.

“Obviously tonight there was times I could drop and get the ball. My passing today wasn’t as good as it could have been. But overall it’s just me evolving as a player.”

Kane is still one of the best midfielders the Premier League doesn’t have after Tottenham win

Kane was critical of his passing in the win for Tottenham. He showed, particularly against Leeds, just how devastating he can be when he drops into those pockets of space and gets his head up.

There are times when he acts like a quarterback for Spurs. And with that, it is perhaps fair to say that Kane is probably the best midfielder the Premier League does not have.

In truth, Kane looks to be a lot better than a lot of the midfielders playing elsewhere in the top-flight.

Perhaps his passing was not as good in the 5-0 win over Everton. But it was not needed. Tottenham cruised to a comfortable victory. And Kane was absolutely lethal in front of goal.
