Southampton defender, Kyle Walker-Peters, has suggested that Tottenham’s Harry Kane remains the striking king over Erling Haaland…for now.
Walker-Peters was speaking to TalkSPORT about all things Premier League and he was peppered with some of the hot topics among fans at the moment. One of those hot topics is Erling Haaland, who has made an explosive start to life in the Premier League.

Of course, talk of Haaland brings comparisons with Tottenham superstar Kane. And while the link is obvious, Walker-Peters believes Kane is still the dog man in the Premier League as things stand.
“Come on, I mean Harry Kane’s done it for how many years in the Premier League? I think Haaland’s had an unbelievable start, I think he’s got three hat-tricks in eight PL games which is ridiculous,” KWP said on TalkSPORT.
“But you know, Harry Kane’s proven for god knows how many years now. I don’t think we can compare them just yet but Haaland’s definitely hungry to prove he’s better than him and Harry will want to stay at the top. They’ll have a good battle I’m sure for top goalscorer.”
Kane is in action this evening against Brighton while Haaland faces another home game against a team he’ll be expected to score against in Southampton.
TBR’s View: Kane Respect Deserved But Haaland Brilliant
This was a nice measured reply from Walker-Peters really. Both Kane and Haaland are brilliant players and that came across in his answer and he praised the pair.
Kane’s respect is deserved, though. He has done it year after year in the Premier League and while Haaland will end up doing the same, the ‘incredible‘ Kane has been there and done it as it stands.
Hopefully, both stay in England for some time yet and push each other on to bigger and better.
