Tottenham Transfer News: Exciting Arnaut Danjuma update comes from Spain
Spanish side Villarreal will look to sell Arnaut Danjuma to boost their own transfer business, according to reports from AS in Spain.
Danjuma is being linked with a move back to England as it stands. Just this morning, the Daily Mail credited the likes of Everton and Tottenham with holding an interest in the Dutchman. Unai Emery is also thought to be keen on bringing the former Bournemouth man to Aston Villa.
And in good news for Tottenham and those interested clubs, AS claims Villarreal could look to cash in on Danjuma to boost their own coffers.
Danjuma joined the La Liga side for around £22m and is believed to have a £63m release clause in his current contract.
However, it’s widely accepted that no club will be paying that sort of money for Danjuma. Instead, Villarreal will likely look to recoup what they spent. The Dutch international has six goals across all comps this season but has also missed part of the season through injury.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are looking to add new faces this month. A full-back is a priority for Antonio Conte but Spurs are also thought to want to add a new forward as well.
TBR’s View: Danjuma has quality but Tottenham might need better
This is one that could go either way really. Tottenham do need strength in depth in attacking areas and Danjuma can excite the crowd when he’s at it.
The big question though is will he be at it regularly enough? There’s been inconsistencies while in Spain and Conte can’t afford to have another player who only does it in fits and starts.
The Mail mentions the possibility of a loan deal for Danjuma. This might be the best option really for everyone.
Danjuma can do well back in England. But Tottenham are pushing for the top four, and the pressure would be on him to produce immediately.
