New Arsenal signing Viktor Gyokeres has shared what convinced him to choose the Gunners as his new career destination after his move from Sporting CP was completed on Saturday.
Arsenal have announced the signing of Viktor Gyokeres on a long-term contract believed to run until 2030.
As previously reported, Gyokeres will wear the No. 14 shirt at Arsenal.
The Gunners will reportedly pay Sporting a guaranteed fee of £55million to sign Gyokeres, plus an additional £8.7million in add-ons.
Gyokeres was nigh-on unstoppable for Sporting last season, though he drew a rare blank when up against Arsenal in the Champions League.

Viktor Gyokeres felt Arsenal were a ‘really strong team’ in 5-1 win over Sporting CP
Gyokeres suggested that the main thing that prompted him to join Arsenal was seeing up close how good they were when the two teams faced off in November.
The Sweden international also said he liked what Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta said to him when they were in talks ahead of his move to the Emirates Stadium.
“I just felt that it was the right club for me,” Gyokeres told the Arsenal media team.
“What I heard from Mikel and Andrea when I was speaking with them, and just what I’ve seen in the past years, how they’ve been playing football.
“When I was playing against Arsenal last season, I could really feel it was a very strong team and very difficult to play against.
“That made me choose Arsenal, and of course all the history the club has and the massive fanbase.
“It’s been amazing to see all the support that they have already given me before I even arrived. That’s what it’s all about.
“It’s going to be very nice to see them in the stadiums as well.”
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently confirmed that “Arteta has been talking to Gyokeres since last week, getting him up to speed with his tactical mindset and just getting him used to his thinking.”

Viktor Gyokeres goes into further detail about his thoughts on Sporting’s 5-1 loss to Arsenal
Arsenal ran riot when they headed to Sporting in November, with Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Magalhaes putting the visitors 3-0 up by half-time.
Goncalo Inacio pulled one back for the hosts early in the second half, but Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard struck to secure a resounding 5-1 win over the Portuguese giants.
“You were very solid defensively, it was hard to create chances,” Gyokeres admitted.
“You were very good on set-pieces as well, and very effective in front of goal, you scored five goals.
“I think that the team was very good, both going forward and defensively as well. It was a tough game.”
Gyokeres concluded by saying: “It’s going to be fun. I think there’s going to be some good training sessions hopefully, and it’s a great way to improve.”
