Arsenal fans are now growing increasingly frustrated that Viktor Gyokeres is yet to be plastered all over the club’s social media feeds.
On Friday, Arsenal announced the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea, another step in the direction for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Madueke will provide invaluable backup and competition for Bukayo Saka on the right, as well as challenging for a starting role on the left.
But in terms of Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal seem no closer to announcing the completion of a deal, and the Swede has now missed out on the Gunners’ flight to Asia for their pre-season tour.
TBR Football previously revealed that Arteta wanted Gyokeres signed in time for pre-season, but owing to Sporting CP and Arsenal still being locked in negotiations, that hasn’t been the reality.
Viktor Gyokeres is frustrated over Arsenal transfer situation
That being said, chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has now provided an update on Gyokeres’ situation, one that is frustrating the Swedish striker.
Arsenal aren’t panicking by any means — they still believe that Gyokeres will be wearing red next season.
However, a deal to sign the Coventry City striker is perhaps proving to be tougher than sporting director Andrea Berta first imagined.

Bailey explained: “Arsenal are staying calm, I need to emphasise that – they admit some deals are just easier than others.
“In terms of the player, I am told Gyokeres himself is frustrated – but his people point out that is just from a professional standpoint – he wants to be with Arsenal now, he just wants to be with his new teammates.
“Arsenal are so far down the line with this, it really is just the finer details – this time last week they thought it was done and could not imagine it running to this weekend.”
When will Viktor Gyokeres be announced as an Arsenal player?
In addition to his comments, Bailey said he would be shocked if Arsenal hadn’t wrapped up a deal for Gyokeres by the end of the week.
Arsenal have waited for so long to sign a superstar striker, so in some minds, it won’t hurt to wait a little while longer to recruit the right player.
However, Gyokeres is currently missing vital time to bond with his new teammates in Asia and he could also be working his way back up to match fitness.
And the prospect of Kai Havertz starting away to Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season is looking more and more realistic.
That won’t be a problem by any means, Arsenal regard Havertz very highly, but the Gyokeres delay isn’t really benefiting any party right now, aside from Sporting, who might eventually achieve a higher sale price.
