Noni Madueke is now officially an Arsenal player and the England international is Mikel Arteta’s latest recruit from Chelsea.
Kai Havertz was Arsenal’s last pickup from their west London rivals, a player who is still hoping to achieve a lot at the Emirates.
And now Noni Madueke will also be hoping to get Arsenal over the line in their quest to win the silverware their football often deserves.
Of course, Declan Rice will continue to be central to those efforts himself, a player who also arrived at Arsenal from London rivals.
And upon Madueke’s announcement as an Arsenal player, Rice seems very excited to get his first glimpses of his compatriot in red.
Declan Rice thinks Noni Madueke signing is a big statement for Arsenal
That being said, Rice sent an endearing welcome letter to Madueke on his first day as an Arsenal player.
Rice was confident that Madueke would be a success as both a person and player under Arteta, a forward he’s played alongside five times for England.
Rice said Madueke’s arrival was a ‘big statement’ for the club, a stance that Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta would seemingly share.

He wrote: “Noni my brother, I’m buzzing for you to join the club. We’ve got an unbelievable group and everyone is looking forward to playing with you.
“We are going to enjoy special moments together and bring success to this club, which everyone wants, and you are going to be a massive part of that.
“Knowing you as a person and as a player, your arrival is going to be a big statement, and I know you’re going to be incredible for us.
“You have so many qualities already and so much capacity to keep growing with us. Looking forward to seeing you in person and if you need anything, shout me. Big love, bro. Dec.”
In reply to Rice’s message, Madueke then simply said: “Appreciate you bro, thanks.”
Noni Madueke can help Kai Havertz improve at Arsenal
Following Berta’s deal for Madueke, Arsenal are now set to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP in Portugal.
There’s been a ton of talk about the new number nine the Gunners will recruit in the coming months, but perhaps Havertz shouldn’t be forgotten.
The Germany international has clearly worked to add a lot of muscle to his frame over the summer, and he should reap the rewards next term.
And given that Madueke might often start on the left wing for Arsenal ahead of Gabriel Martinelli at times, he might really help Havertz when he does start as a striker.
In that role, Madueke will look to get to the byline and cross the ball in — the kind of deliveries Havertz hasn’t often enjoyed in north London.
And regardless of who else Arteta manages to bring in, perhaps Madueke, Havertz and Bukayo Saka might often be a trio deployed in N5.
